Getting irritated with my slow computer
Like most people I have at some points become frustrated with my computer. Until very recently though, the problem was getting to the point of being ridiculous. The computer was running so slowly it was painful and it was crashing all the time. In fact if I were to compare my computer to how it was when I first got it, I would say it was 80% slower. In fact the computer had become so slow that it made me think of my of my old ZX spectrum in that I used to turn it on and go off and do something else while it loaded up.
Anyway having endured the problems with the computer for several months I finally snapped and decided that I was either going to fix the computer or buy a new one. With new computers being costly I knew I had to consider the idea of fixing my current computer. I began as most people probably would by searching the world wide web. Having scanned the web and read around thirty articles I had come up with a list of possible problems and solutions. The first and clearly most obvious solution to the problem was to “De-Frag” the computer's hard drive. I carried this out but it made little diffrence. The next solution to the problem was to remove any spy ware or viruses that my be on the computer. I used a program called AVG which did make the computer run faster. The computer was still not as good as it had been though so I moved onto the final potential solution which was scanning the computer for registry errors. Having run a free registry check, the registry checker I used identified around about one hundred and twenty errors. It did cost $30 for the software but it was a wise decision as it made a big difference to the speed of my computer. I suppose the lesson is that if you are happy to put time into fixing your computer you can save yourslef a lot of cash.
